Default My Photography Mentor

Died of a heart attack yesterday.

He started in photography in the Marines in 1956, went on to serve as an military and commercial photographer from then until yesterday...54 years.

About seven years ago, he taught me how to use a film slr camera. It was way confusing, but I learned a lot about exposure.
This is a photo that he took of my husband and one of our sons during one of my lessons. He was showing me stuff on the camera and snapped this one. It is still to this day one of my favorite photos ever.

He was still working at 85 years old. Just last month he had a show/sale to benefit a local elementary school. He taught a lot of workshops too. He was a great guy.
RIP!!

I saw a quote on a gravestone the other day that I thought was nice:

"Those who live in on in the hearts of others never die"

In your mentor's case, a little bit of him will be in every photo you take.

That's beautiful - and very true.
So sorry for your loss, Nicole.

So true. I'm really sorry for your loss. What a wonderful shot of your child and husband.
