Default Camera Insulation, anyone?

A friend of mine got this Konica C35 from a garage sale. I know this is a digital photography forum (and it's a film type camera), but I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of insulation was used inside it. We found out last week that the old owners seems to have broken the back cover and shaved the black foam like insulation off before putting their cheap, yet sticky glue on it. It was a quick fix, but it broke off eventually.

Any ideas?

I'll get image of the insulation inside in about 24 hours. We just fixed the camera by getting rid of the old rivets and the epoxy and the contact adhesive so I can't exactly open it up and risk screwing it up. I tried looking in google, but I guess I'm not using the right tags because I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Thanks for reading!

Most old cameras used a black foam-like substance where the rear film door would meet the body. I dont know where you'd be able to get it, but ebay might be a good spot to start with. failing that, a quick google search for "camera seam foam" or something should yield results.

Failing that, see if you cant find a local place that either repairs cameras or sells old cameras and see if they might be able to sell you some.

Default Thanks!

Thanks a lot, that actually got me what I needed. I even found instructions on how to do it as well as where to get some of the material I need locally.

It's surprising how one additional word can completely change the search results. Thanks a bunch again!
