Unhappy HDD failure
well, my external HDD is failing.
it randolmy gives "delayed write" failures, and images simply don't display.
then the entire drive will dissapear.

a re-start and disc indexing fixes it for about 30 minutes but then is starts playing games again.

it looks like i've lost around 10% of my photos, the rest are currently being moved to a new 1.5tb i bought this morning.

nothing important has been lost... phew

With the rate of HD failures today, it's really not an option to not have a backup...

everything important is backed-up off site.. and the really-really important stuff is done twice
its just "other stuff" ...which still sux to loose.
