Default What to get?

Hello, I need some help picking out a birthday gift for my wife. My wife recently bought a Cannon 5D, she has one L series lens, but I'm not sure exactly what size. We live in Ohio so she is unable to shoot outside all year. She has a small studio (well its actually just the neighbors living room converted into a studio to use when she needs). She likes to shoot outside at locations. Recently she has been doing a lot of Sr pictures.

I was thinking about getting her an IPad since she does a lot of location shootign but after reading a post on the forums many people do not like it. I also know her computer needs upgrading since she hates using it because it's so slow. But, I know she wants more glass, and my only problem with that is the L series is pretty expensive. I'm open to anything under 1k. If you need more info I can also provide you with that.

Thanks for your help.

For that kinda coin you may want to ensure you have her buy-in beforehand.

If she hates her computer then I would make the #1 on my list.

This is purely my personal taste but assuming the other L lens is a 24-70 or 24-105:

EF 135mm f/2L USM.

$980 on Amazon.

I must say that is one of the most beautiful butterfly pictures I've seen.

The iPad, as much as I love my four, isn't good for on location viewing in bright light / sunshine.

Find out what lens she has (sneak a peek if you have to) and we can suggest other complementary focal lengths.

My wife doesn't go for the gift cert thing, but that's an option for photo gear.

Thank you! Yeah, I really lucked out on where the flowers were that day. And the 135L did most of the heavy lifting--its bokeh is just gorgeous. And that was taken with my lowly little XT (350D). At iso 1600.

If she hates the computer then get her a new one or upgrade her existing one. That would make it more bearable for her to do post work.

I'm going with computer...
No matter what lens/gear you buy her, the time will still have to be spent on the computer to process whatever images she takes. Additionally, she probably has significant ideas on what she "wants" for her next lens, but probably not terribly particular about the computer other than "faster".
