I've never used the EOS Utility to process pics. I didn't know it could do that.

I do know that Digital Photo Professional lets you process RAW files which I used to use all the time. I still do for quick reviews and edits but if I have to do heavy RAW editing then I'll pull it into Lightroom 3.

In the 9 years I've been shoot digital I've never used the Canon Software because it's too damn slow. Infact the disks for all my EOS 1D's, and MKII's are still in the wrapper.

Don't like Adobe raw convertors myself...DPP can do a better job for free. The interface isn't great and the lens correction only works with some Canon lenses but it does all I need.

DPP used to be crap but it gets better all the time.

I like the Zoombrowser software for batch renaming and to be able to easily preview RAW shots.

I've had a lot of problems with noise when using the Canon DPP so I use PSE to edit and convert RAW files.

If you want to shoot tethered the software is pretty cool as you can change the camera settings using the software. I wish they would allow you to change the master speedlite settings from the software when tethered as well. You can do it from the camera menus (40D and newer?) so why not from the software as well?
