Default Sony alpha 330 and flash unit aurora orion 400

Hi, I need help.... I have a sony alpha 330 and just got a flash unit aurora orion 400 and I can't get them to work together, the camera is set to wireless flash but when I take the picture, it's very dark even if the flash came on.
If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong I would appreciate it.

Thank you
Sophie

For what I read about the Aurora Orion flash head, it works with a built-in light cell as a trigger, so you shouldn't have to set your on-board flash to wireless.

If the Aurora flash actually fires, then the problem is somewhere else, like the flash power, your shutter speed, the aperture setting, etc.

Maybe it's in the reason of you are using "Pre-flash TTL" for the build in flash.
It's better to use "Manual flash" on a low power ratio. The pre-flash for the TTL otherwise starts the Aurora and than there is no flash light for your shot.
