Default Worth the money?

I have a glorified P&S digital camera, with no possibility of adding filters.
My son-in-law sent me the link to the Tiffen site - A friend of his seems to be very happy with it - but I was not very impressed with the pictures he showed me - although I must admit, these were photos taken with his Blackberry...
Is the software worth $150.00? Does anyone use it in PP? Some advise Pro and Con welcome.

IMHO,...No Its not worth it. But im just still an amatuer with a P&S myself. If you already Photoshop or the likes, then I wouldnt bother with it. If your serious about photography then I'd save that money towards a more professional camera and gear. It seems like half of that stuff you can do with PS or Gimp.

If you dont have any PP software, I'd suggest Gimp and Picasa 3. Both are free downloads. You can Google both and find them easily. I use Picasa for my photo organizing and minor edits. Then use Gimp for more complicated PP. If your not looking for the graphic design stuff and just want regular photo editing, try Gimp.

But thats just my two cents.

I have both PhotoSop CS5 and Lightroom 3, and a slew of tutorials to go with it.
I checked the Tiffen website - they have a 15 day trial.
Have you actually tried the Tiffen software? My budget currently won't allow me to get a dSLR just yet.

Tiffen filters aren't all that great, I wouldn't expect their over price $150 plug-in software to be any better.BTW you do know you need to own photo shop or aperture already. I believe that DFX software is just a plug-in for those programs. If you already have photoshop or aperture theres nothing you couldn't do by hand that these filters do I believe.

Thanks for preventing me from spending $150.00 for something that might be just a time saver.
I can now put it towards the dSLR I'm dying to get.
Santa, are you listening??????
