Default Photography & Hiking Video Now Online!

Hello everyone - several of you have been following along with me on the Share Your Shots Landscape Forum. I invite you to check out a video that a good friend of mine (professional videographer, Scott Slone of Alaska HDTV) just produced. It features a hike that we teamed up for this past summer - in the Talkeetna Mountains of Alaska. There is also a short photo tip that is the foundation for a new video series that we are starting. It's going to be a great time, and we hope you'll follow us on our Alaskan photo & video adventures. Please drop by and consider leaving a comment if you like the content (bribes of words are always appreciated - and we'll know we are on to something).
Oh, the HD version will be out shortly as well as being available (FOR FREE) on iTunes, in the Podcast section - just do an iTunes search for Alaska HDTV!
Clickee the linkee and ENJOY!

Amazing scenery there! I wish I could have been there, but carrying my gear 1,800 feet up those mountains sounds like a lot of work!

Thanks! This is one of my favorite locations - such diverse terrain and photographically "new". We actually went higher than mentioned in the film & found some alpine ponds another 1000-1500 feet up. The path is well maintained - it only gets sketchy as you traverse the boulder field. We did it with (roughly) 45 pound packs - camera gear, camping gear and clothes. It would have been fine, had I not sprained my left ankle about 2 miles into the 6 we climbed that day. Then I had to cover the same ground down in a rainstorm. Twisted the ankle at least 2 more times. Well worth it
It is a lot of work - but that's what we do it for. Because it is worth it. Can't wait to get back up there - we are talking about doing a winter trek up there and camping out overnight. Still trying to figure out if I have the guts for a winter overnighter...
Thanks again!
