Default Pre-moistened lens towelettes

I have some of these towelettes which are for cleaning glass and polycarbonate eyewear. Would any of you say that these would be ok for using on my camera lenses?

Probably, but Id still opt not to use them. A simple cloth for cleaning eyeglasses is going to be more than enough.

They're "ok", but I find they usually leave a residue which then needs cleaned off.

Having used such things for my glasses, and always found that they left a smear, I would say no.

I use them all the time (I'm a very messy photographer). The Ziess brand is pretty good (found at Walmart), and even the one's found at Target are pretty decent. Never had a problem with smearing.

I use Zeiss towelettes and are meant for both optics and camera lenses. They are great and very convenient. Only problem is they comes wrapped in square foils which look exactly like certain phalic accesory and sometimes get wierd looks from people when I tear one open for a quick cleaning...
