Default Advise needed on mist clogging on camera lens

Hi,

I need some advise from experts here. Whenever I go out for shoot I most go in my car with A/C on and when i step out of the car the camera lens is clogged by the mist for several minutes.. and i loose the moments i want to capture 'coz of this. This also happens when i go out for shooting early morning .. is there a way to avoid this and if this happens whats the best of of getting back to normal? As of now I either wait few minutes or clean the filter and lens with the lens tissue.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Gear I use

Camera: Nikon D90
Lens : 18-105 kit lens with UV filter and Nikor 50mm

Regards,
Amit

Spit, I used to go Scuba diving, we would spit inside our mask then wash it lightly before going diving. Those that found it "icky" would only do 1 or 2 dives without being able to see anything before they would do it too.

Also, from what I hear, if you put your lenses in zip-lock bags the condensation should happen on the inside of the bag as opposed to the lens once you step outside. Then you just take them out of the bag..

Also, have you simply considered turning off the AC a few minutes before getting there and rolling down the window just as you get there because a gradual change of temp should help prevent that.

Turn the AC off and take the lens cap off as well.

Well yes, thats an option i have tried if I know where i have to shoot and when, but if its a moment to capture there and then, you miss it (

Personally, I'd try the spit. It really is a good diving solution, and it might just work on a lens too. It certainly won't hurt your front element -- just some water and a microfiber cloth should clean it up if anything looks wrong.

Your confusion confuses me!!!

I thought my suggestion was pretty simple and self explanatory, I don't know what it is about it but saliva from your mouth is really good at keeping condensation from forming on glass.

Diving masks or lens front elements or whatever.

In warm weather I find that keeping the camera in your camera bag will keep the camera from cooling off so much and it will not fog up when taken out into the heat. Cold weather is another story, you need to cool the camera,I just put it in a cool spot in the house overnight and then into the camera bag if taking in the car so the heat will not warm it and cause it to fog up .

Lenses, glasses, mirrors, windows, pretty much anything that condensates.
It works really well for hair that will not stay down too!
