Default Mother Informed of Daughter's Death...

by a Presenter on Live TV!

BBC News - Row after mother told of girl's death live on Italian TV

Pretty crazy stuff, definitely crosses some kind of ethical line in my mind.

This has to be about the most inhumane thing I have seen in quite some time.

I however, am not shocked, being as we live in a world of "reality" shows, and people seem to enjoy other peoples pain as entertainment.

I absolutely HATE those "journalist" shows that have an interviewee begin to tear up or cry after an emotional exchange...and then the stupid camera just stays on the person forever while they try to compose themselves. Turn the f-in camera off! Give the person some human dignity! It's so lame, pointless, and quite honestly childish!

The problem is we all watch it. As RLucas says, it's the "reality" show times. How pathetic we've become.

That's shocking and unethical on not only the journalist conducing the interview but the news director as well. They should be fired!

I always wonder why people go on such shows?

Well in this case it was for the purposes of a public appeal for her missing daughter.

Yes, of course.

However, I meant such trash shows as Jerry Springer, et al. or those pathetic reality things.

Why does anyone do that?

They couldn't pay me enough to even consider it.

Because the people on those shows are often on a pretty low income and could really use the cash...well that and stupidity...and some of them are probably actors.

A person I knew ( This happened about 20 years ago ) found out that his son was killed in a car crash on the radio. Heads did roll, NO ONE should find out that way.

I am not sure that is true.

Often they cite their professions and they are middle class—real trash, but still.

Some people will do anything for their 15 minutes of "fame;" in this case notoriety.

Anything goes nowadays.
