Default flickr vs picasa

right now i have like... 5 different flickr accounts and i'm slowly (very slowly) going through the process of organizing everything and getting rid of all those accounts and creating one place for all of my photos.

that being said, i've considered the switch to picasa.

thoughts? pros/cons on either?

I wouldn't flickr is awesome. Why in the world do you have 5 flickr accounts? I could see maybe 2 max.

As far as free accounts go Flickr limits file size to 10mb, 100mb per month and a TOTAL quantity of only 200 images (if doing a 365 you must go pro).

As far as I know Picasa has a total 1gb limit, 20mb file size and so far haven't been able to find the image quantity limit.

Only reason I know all this is I'm trying to pick a free site for my 365 when I start it.

You know you can change your flickr name? You don't have to create a whole new account.

I have a flickr account, and a picasa account. I don't use the flickr account anymore though. It's not anything against flickr really -- just that I'm already using ton of google's offers (gmail, google docs, picasa....) so it's really handy. I do think that picasa is easier to navigate though.

You can upload unlimited images in Flickr with a free acount (within the limits of bandwith) but it will only show the latest 200 in the gallery.

You can still link the pictures to a blog or any other site.

My two cents, I have had a Flickr Pro account for a few years and I just love it. I have all my photos in there, good, great, bad and horrible alike. I use it for many purposes and I find it very well rounded for my needs. The pro account is also, to me very cheap for what it is. I came upon Flikr when my computer crashed and it was suggested I get an online backup. since then I have used Flickr for online back up and Many Many other reasons plus have an external hard drive....It was a big loss so now I am paranoid haha !

You are correct Gabriel. You can upload as many as you want (within BW limits) and link to any of them. But only the 200 most recent are visible in your photostream. My mistake, still thinking 365 since most people who see my 365 will be outside of this forum.
