Default Telescope

Hi,
Just a quick question, and please forgive my naivity:
if I have a telescope that has an objective lens with a focal length of 700mm, could I assume, that if I can get my camera lined up 700mm away from the objective lens, that I could hyperthetically take astronomical photos, assuming that I have removed the eye peices on the telescope?

Absolutely correct, but you'd need to take the lens off the camera as well if you remove the eyepiece. In fact, most astronomical photos are taken with the camera at the focal point of the telescope, and adapters are available that replace the eyepiece and allow a camera to be attached. A lens is just a lens, after all.

In that case you do not want to remove the telescope eyepiece you want to focus on the projected image in the eyepiece.

Default Macro?

To focus on the image projected by the eyepeice would I need to use macro?

It's called digiscoping, and I don't know much about it either, but here's a forum that should help:
