Default Photo Archiving

So, i'm a photographer of many things, I like to go to events and shoot them, such as car shows for an example. Normally I would upload my good shots to Flickr and what not. But What I been wanting to do is upload all the photos I took at these events so I can share them with people that were there at the event. Couple months ago I was invited to my cousins wedding and I shot almost 400 shots. And I wanted a way to upload them all so people could view them with easily. I have my own photography portfolio website, but I thought it would be a good idea to do something like having a sub domain on the website or something.

Even a 3rd party website that does stuff like that would be fine with me, I just don't know what you guys do when you want to share all the photos of an event to someone, I like Phanfare and that was an option till I found out how much it cost.

Hopefully everyone understands what i'm talking about, I already have Flickr, but I don't use it for that reason. Smugsmug would would most likely work, but then again, it gets expensive for someone who has hardly any income. So yeah, I am looking for a free service, unless the service is fairly reasonable price.

Any of you have any idea how I would go about doing something like that? I been thinking about it for weeks and just can't figure it out.

Why don't you want to use flickr?

I use it this way all the time. Create a set, upload all of the photos as "private", and give guest passes to the people I want to give access to.

I suppose I could get a second flickr account... But I just can't afford another bill lol.... I already have a Flickr pro account and I use that more for social, I only upload a few photos at a time so they get viewed and comments on them.

I mean I guess I could do another flickr account...

Why can't you use the Flickr account you already have? Pretty much any option you choose is going to cost you something. For custom private access, most places will charge you.

I guess no one is understanding. I use my Flickr account for almost like social networking. I might only upload a photo a day and people view it and comment it through out the day. It's a slow process, but it's getting me noticed and it's working.

So i'm not going to dump 500 photos at once, cause most of them wont ever get viewed. I doubt anyone will still comprehend what i'm talking about.

But if I have to, i'll get another flickr pro account and make it private or something...

What you would do is click the button that says "private" when you upload. Nobody will be able to see those photos in your stream unless you give them a guest pass.

I don't see how you can do that, I looked and looked. There is no option to have an album/set or collection to have a password...

So maybe Flickr wont work for that anyways. I might just have to create something my self...

Here's one of the places, for uploading individual images. It's also an option, IIRC, when creating a set.

Well I don't see where you put a password! I looked everywhere, there is no guest password field or anything.

The way it works with Flickr is that the private set generates a unique url, differently (or so I've heard) from the public urls. Since it is your flickr, you'll be able to see the set and therefore get the url. Anyone with that url will have access to that set.
