Default Spiders aren't supposed to come this big here!!

Ok this is no huntsman but jeez it's been sat in the middle of my front room now for over an hour...moving for a bit then sitting there....urrrgghh im no arachnaphobe usually but this thing is massive and ugly as sin!

URGH!

Bit hard to tell its size without something for comparison, could you push something close to it like a toy (lego block) or even a fork or something?
Or just pick it up and hold it in your hand - it looks friendly enough

I think I've seen one of those scuttling round my house. Definitely one of the larger ones you see in this country (that arn't imported pets of course).

Ewww! I don't mind little spiders, but that would creep me out. I just read the other day that the average person will swallow at least two spiders while sleeping during their whole life. You'd probably choke to death on that sucker.

We have some spiders here that have a leg span of about 4 or 5". They don't bite humans, but they still terrify me. The husband will chase them outside if he can, but I kill 'em.
