Default Music

What are some examples of tunes on your iPod, Mp3 player or online playlist? I am looking for some new music; 1. Work out music, something with a faster tempo and 2. Chill out music-for when I am editing and fiddling around on the computer.
I figure since there are people from all over the world on this forum, you might be able to turn me onto to an artist that I may not have known about.
I like pretty much all genres. Well, I am not a big fan of country or hard core rap. But I like most everything else. TIA!

As of right now, I am not playlisting anything. My player is broken.
As far as uptempo stuff, Disturbed is getting my vote lately, or maybe Five Finger Death Punch. That is, if you like metal.

Chill music would have to be The Black Keys. Still a little uptempo, but chill worthy.

If you wanted to go a little more meditative, Merlin's Magic is pretty good. It usually does a fair job of zoning me out.
Yeah, I am very eclectic with my music. I pretty much dig everything but contemporary country.

Yes, I love metal. I am an old 80's girl at heart. I have a huge collection of Metallica, Megadeath, plus some new stuff, Godsmack and System of a Down. I do have some Disturbed, but I will check out the other metal group that you mentioned, as well as the other suggestions. Thanks!

I was a huge Metallica fan back when MOP came out in 86. I still love everything they did from The Black album back. It's kind of a cheese fest now. System of a Down is great! Serge has a killer voice! If I can think of some more stuff, I will get back over here.

Yeah, I am not really a fan of any new Metallica, but their old stuff kicks butt.
Serge has a bunch of solo work out right now. It is pretty good. I just love his voice. I really hope they get back together sometime soon.

Ride The Lightning... that was powerful stuff... Seeing them (shooting them) on stage, even with their new image and without Jason was still manic... epic and any other word that describes such.

Right now I'm listening to a lot of random stuff... today I found a band called MILK via Twitter who I stuck up a mini-review of, they're pretty good - I love their EP (You can download it free if you like) not metal... not even close, but great..

Here's something from my Spotify faves list:

Seventh Wonder - my favorite progressive metal band. The singer is fenomenal.
Eminem - the only rap artist whose music I like (the serious stuff, the Slim Shady stuff not so much)
Russel Allen (Allen & Lande)
Symphony X
Petteri Sariola - In my opinion, the best acoustic guitar player ever! Songs sung in English, a lot of insrtumentals
Dax Johnson - amazing piano player, one album of songs with his vocals, the rest are instrumental
Allison Crowe

There's a game you can do for this.

Put your iPod/general music player on shuffle and post the first 5 songs it comes up with. The aim to is to show a cross section of what you have on your music player and possible bring new music to others (sort of 'if you like this you may like...' kind of thing.)

So I come up with:

Försvinn Du Som Lyser - Finntroll

Onward We Rock - Pantera

Warning - Green Day

I Scream - Down

Für Elise - Trans-Siberian Orchestra

I put my iTunes on shuffle and just chose random songs... I like a wide variety, but included more metal than I normally would due to above posts.

Explosions in the Sky - Yasmin the Light
Clutch - Escape from the Prison Planet
Opeth - Bleak
Giant Squid - Neonate
Electric Wizard - Return Trip
Dillinger Escape Plan - Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants
Pinback - Lyon
Mountain Goats - No Children
Iron & Wine - Naked As We Came
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - The Companions
Tomahawk - God Hates a Coward
The Mars Volta - Concertina
Jesu - We All Faulter
Mastodon - Colony of Birchmen
Rasputina - High on Life
Violent Femmes - Please Do Not Go
Gogol Bordello - Wanderlust King
The (International) Noise Conspiracy - Breakout 2001
High on Fire - Blessed Black Wings
