Default New starter.

I am completely new to any kind of photograpy, my camera is an Olympus E420, had it for about a year and have barely scratched the surface. Anyone help?

You're clearly not trying hard enough. Perhaps use a file, that ought to scratch it up real good.

sorry for the toungue n cheek, I just don't know exactly what you're asking. Perhaps do a search for "The basics of photography" in google, and see what you find. At the very least you will find out what things you know nothing about, and then you can ask more specific questions.

Try Bryan Peterson, maybe? Understanding Exposure and Learning to See Creatively are good basic books on exposure and composition.

Get your camera off the auto settings and use aperature priority or manual (if your camera has these settings)learn to understand aperature and shutter speed for different situations

BE PREPARED TO DELETE MOST OF YOUR PHOTOS
Dont expect to get the perfect shots from the start but perservere, I look back at my early shot that I used to think were good and now think man they are so bad, and in a few years time I will probably look at photos I take now and thing the same thing!

Be prepared to read lots and try ... how I took it forum can be inspirational
