Default I made £175.....

by selling some cheap crappy Ratners style jewellery that was sitting in my jewellery box. My friend did it first and got £42 so I thought what the heck I'd be lucky to get fifty quid for this cheap tat that included an engagement ring that I got from some loser years ago! Anyway, I handed over my stuff and she said that she couldn't find some of the hall marks so would it be ok if she does an acid test on them. That made me laff! I always did question the quality LOL!

She came back and said "I'll give you £175" so I was flabbergasted! That's better than a kick in the head. I was half temped to say "make it £200 and we've got a deal" but I had to strike while the iron was hot! and not only that but that money is going towards the Canon EF 85mm 1.8 along with the £200 that my husband owes me.

Tell you what, I won't ever sell anything of any senimental value no matter how hard up I'l be. I do like nice jewellery. I have some lovely things. You could say I am a jewellery snob like some people are car snobs, clothes snobs, photographic equipment snobs but I am a self comfessed jewellery snob

GASP!!! Are you serious? Do you have any daughters to pass it on to?

To Rachel, that is awesome. Congrats. I hope you get something fun with it.
I am kind of a jewelry snob too, not so much by choice, but I have lots of metal allergies. I cannot wear anything but 14k and up (gold) or my skin literally peals off under wear the jewelry rested. Earrings are even worse. Since gold is more expensive, I have to be really selective and get classic pieces that won't really go out of style.

Ahem. Being a photographic equipment snob is better.

I just sold my old wedding ring (will NEVER tell my sons! LOL) and some odd pieces, one earring of a pair, a couple of broken chains. Got almost $600 for them. Of course, the $$ will be sucked up by car repairs rather than photog equipment. damn.
