Default You know what is awesome?

The fact that hubby spent the whole entire day working on my computer to see if he could fix it. We were planning to send it in for repair on tomorrow. But he wanted to try a few things first. He got it working. Even better than before.
I had Vista. Apparently it didn't like a driver or something and kept crashing. So he wiped the hard drive, did a full system restore. Then went and got me Windows 7. Works perfect now. PERFECT! Windows 7 rocks too!
And he got me photoshop elements 8, I had been using 7 and I argued with him that I did not need to upgrade, but he insisted. Well, guess what? PSE 8 has a raw processor.
Guess what I am going to be trying out for the first time this week? RAW!! YAY!!
So I am pretty happy right now. Yes, very happy.

Yay for awesome hubbys!

If you've not treated him to that 'something very special' yet, then you'll have to now.

Yay for you!!
I was going to ask what version of windows you were using. My dad got Vista when it first came out, and his computer crashed real bad. Apparently something wrong with Vista... We're all running on Windows 7 now, and no more trouble!

Glad to hear you got it running again! Congrats on the PSE update!

Nice! Good to hear that you're up and running again. With an upgrade even!

So, it was eventually worth being patient for a little while...

Yay for hubbies!! Mine is awesome too!! He will spend all day working on ours too. At the weekend he bought me a larger external hard drive and also £200 towards my next lens but he didn't give it to me in my hand he thought it best that he saves it on my behalf lol or else I'd squander it on crap lol!

If it doesn't like a driver, you can restart in safe mode and uninstall said driver, no need to format everything

But in this case I think you're better off with what you did anyway .. dumping the colossal Vista bug collection and getting Win7 will help a lot
