Angry Ebay Gripe - Grrr Dont know what to do

Sorry to whinge, but in July I bought some items from a seller on ebay and after 16 days i havent received anything (the seller is apparently in America so it really shoudnt have taken that long) - so i cantacted them to find out where my items are - and they have sent me the following email:

I have checked with postal office and they advised that your item might be misplaced while transiting, therefore they will need to launch an investigation on this matter.

I was told to send another package to you because the investigation might take quite a while. Please let me know what you think.

#Please do not give me any neutral or negative feedback because I will try my best to make it fair for you. Thanks.

#Please also indicate the size you need.

WHen I did finally receive these – they were not Australia sizes (almost 2 sizes too small) and were posted from Malaysia, which in itself would have been fine - except in 10 days ago i bought similar items from a Seller apparently in Australia and i havent received them so i chased them up as well (twice) – and have recieved this email from them:

I have checked with postal office and they advised that your item might be misplaced while transiting, therefore they will need to launch an investigation on this matter.

I was told to send another package to you because the investigation might take quite a while. Please let me know what you think.

Which is basically exactly the same as the first email I received from a different seller in a different country.. Is it breaking Ebay rules to have different accounts?? And is there anything I can really do?? I have told them if this doesn’t get rectified immediately I will report them ()and the other seller to ebay investigation) should I do it anyway or should I wait till I receive my items – bcos I don’t think they ever really sent these this time – or the first time – I think they just waited till I had chased these up…

What would you do???

First, don't worry, you're probably fully covered with eBay Buyer Protection.

Read this:
eBay Buyer Protection
eBay: Resolution Center
What to do if you don't receive an item or it doesn't match the seller's description

In short, you'll need to file a case to eBay Resolution Center and they will contact you and you'll get your money back, and they'll investigate the sellers you're talking about. Tell them everything. You need to do this in 45 days after your purchase. Read everything thoroughly.

I'd be right on to eBay to get them removed - it breaks eBay's t's&c's - If eBay take seventy years to reply - give them a good helping of negative feedback for being misleading, deceitful and shifty.

I'm so sick of eBay - it's not an auction site anymore, it's a haven for spam, scams and shops... not fun

Ebay was never an auction site, never has been and never will be. Auctions are supposed to keep going until the seller has extracted the highest price from the most willing buyer. Ebay "auctions" end at a specific time, not when the highest possible price has been gained. Have you been to a house being auctioned? Do they say "ok bidding ends at exactly 4.32 and 3 seconds"

I have been to other (real) auction sites, if a bid is received within the last 10 minutes that 10 minutes starts again, any more bids within THAT 10 minutes resets the timer. So the highest bid has to be the highest for at least 10 minutes, not 2 seconds like ebay.

I have seen auctions that are supposed to end at 4.00pm still going at 9pm.

I'm very satisfied with eBay support so far. I once ordered a car phone holder from Singapore and it came in broken. I contacted the seller and he sent me a new one immediately but it failed to come in a month (it usually takes 3 weeks). Somehow eBay found out about it and contacted me 3 or 4 times by e-mail asking me to explain in detail what happened. Also, when I logged on to eBay from my work computer for the first time, they've shown me a warning that there has been a login from an unknown computer. They offered to call me to give me a verification number or else I couldn't use it anymore. I agreed and in two minutes I got a phone call from USA (to Bosnia !!) and the machine told me a verification code to enter.

I love e-bay. I've bought a lot of camera equipment off of e-bay...you just have to know what you're doing.

Like when I bought my 5DMarkII. Read each auction carefully. Don't buy from anywhere in Asia if you're buying expensive stuff. It's worth a few extra bucks to buy from a well-known company through ebay. And in the end, I got my 5DMarkII for about $200 less than I could at any reputable website.

But now that Bing Cashback is gone, I probably won't use e-bay as much. Most of the prices are comparable to Amazon, and there's less risk. I'll still buy flash triggers and cheap crap from Asia, but a lot of the accessories I can get from Meritline for next to nothing.

Hey Guys - I finally received my package from these guys!!! can you believe it - after 6 emails they told me it was sent on the first day i started chasing these up. THey also refunded my postage money and have told me they are apaprently sending a gift to make up for the "trouble".

I am about to log on to Ebay and give them bad feedback and report both seller names to ebay. Its ridiculous - out of the 6 pages of items - both sellers make up 5 of them. Not cool!!!! i think i am going to be paying full price from shops from now on - at least i will get this when i require them!!!
