I've had one B&W printed on metallic paper and it turned out great. I think that subject matter would be the most deciding factor. I don't think it would work for all subjects, such as portraits, but for some scenic, I think it works very good. This is the photo that I had done on metallic:

_MG_6364-1

Like I said, this is the only B&W metallic I ever done, most of the metallics I do are HDRs.

I've printed several pictures, both color and b&w, on regular kodak e-surface, metallic and true b&w paper in order to see the differences in paper quality/look and such. I'm mixed on the metallic. I think it really depends on the image.

This one looks great in metallic

But this one doesn't. I prefer it in regular e-surface

I didn't care for the true b&w paper, as it sapped all the warmth out of my b&w prints.

I'm framing a black and white of some train cars as we speak. Looks awesome if you ask me. But like others have said, its hard to tell. I guess you'd know if you've done alot. I'm just starting out with it tho

Could anyone tell 'how' you can still print on metal? I'd really like to try it.

Thanx

Their are some labs now that are actually printing on aluminum plates now. I might have to try one out.
