Default Never take anything for granted

My husband, family and friends camped out for 4 days this past weekend. We rode hard, had a great time and attended the Vets rally in Cripple Creek. A weekend we all look forward to every year.
Several wrecks during the rally. One was a friends cousin who luckily only lost an eye and not his life.
Today my husband was hit on his bike by a kid who just wasnt looking. Threw him up in the air. He is pretty banged up but is home and alive. His bike is trashed. His means of transportation.
Makes you appreciate what you have and also realize just how easily you can lose someone.

Thank God for small mercies, the bike can be replaced unlike your husband. I hope he recovers quickly and the same for your friends cousin.

Sorry to hear this Hope he recovers well.

My fiance was hit on his bike a few months ago and got away with a broken arm. Again hit by a kid (17 year old) looking the wrong way when pulling out of a junction. To top it off.. whilst he was in the operating theater having his arm pinned back together, some scrote stole his bike from the accident scene!!

i too hope that your husband gets better soon, i agree a bike can be replaced, not your husband. prayers and thoughts go to you and yours. it is a shame that people never look where they are going.

I am sorry to hear that Michelle! My dad was in a similar accident back in the 70's. He was at an intersection, and a kid in a convertible ran the red light, striking my dad. He was thrown in the air, and luckily landed in the back seat of the car that hit him. He got out with minor injurys.
I hope everything turns out, and he is back on the road in no time!

Very sad news, glad to hear that he is alive and home and let's hope he makes a full recovery. My thoughts are prayers are with you and your husband. I don't like hearing about fellow riders involved in accidents it's usually not pretty. Sounds like your husband was very lucky.
