Wow...There is so much info here I don't even know where to start. I guess waiting for my gear to get here would be a start, lol. I'm looking forward to learning and getting started. After 10 years of videography a change is exciting.

I've been reading so much, i'm almost to the point of not shooting anymore and finding a new hobby!
I've been considering upgrading to the nikon d90 or the d5000 ( i can get the d5000 free by redeeming my points or pay a little extra for the d90) while on the other hand i'm shooting with a sony, and wondering if i should stick with that brand and upgrade my body to the a850 ( about 1k$) Which brings me to my confusion...save the money and redeem to the points and I'll have cash for some new glass, or spend the cash, use my exisiting gear..the more i think the more confused I am becoming...maybe purshasing theat 67 VW bus for a restoration project is the answer!

Welcome! Grab a seat, there's beer in the fridge.

If you're coming from a video background, you shouldn't have any problems learning the differences. There isn't many.

Welcome to the fun! There are lots of great folks here with a wealth and diversity of knowledge and opinions. It's not a good day for me if I do not get some DPS time!

Welcome to DPS! You've gotta be going nuts waiting for your new toys to arrive. There's definitely tons here to keep you occupied in the meantime. Also, there are some amazing photographers here who are really willing to help and answer questions if you get stuck. Have fun!
