Default Now I understand what Jim Poor was refering to.

I recently posted asking about moving from LR2 to LR3 and Jim Poor pointed me in the direction of some slowness issues that some have observed. This is just a follow up to that post. At the beginning I was seeing speed increases over LR2, but had not really taxed the system at that point. Now that I've been using for a while I see a definite slowness, specifically when importing lots of images and during the rendering of a high resolution view. It also is very slow to move through the various modules. I'm sure it is not a computer hardware issue as I'm running a MacPro with the RAM maxed out.
At this point I think I am going to forget the LR product and continue using Aperture, unless there is a fix for the slowness coming soon. Prior to LR2 I was using Aperture 2 and honestly making the switch seems to have been a mistake, I should have just upgraded to Aperture 3.

Sorry to hear it LR has limited use in my workflow these days, but when I do use it, I need it to be fast.

I have no problem, but I am running on an Intel i7-930 box. Try downloading LR3.2 RC from Adobe, it is supposed to fix some of the problems some people have had and is supposed to be quite stable.

Thanks kirbinster, I may try it but everything I've read says that doesn't fix the slowness problem. I really wanted to have ACR the same across programs, thus the reason for LR to begin with. I guess I'll give it a little time to see what happens before thinking of the upgrade.
