Default Thanks to dPS, I have a new camera!

Yep, thanks to these forums, I am now the proud owner of a Canon Rebel XSi.

Why these forums?

Well, without these forums, I would have never seen this post in the "Gear for Sale" forum. In addition, without these forums, I would have never been able to send a PM to WVCoalMiner and been able to make arrangements after he placed the kit on Ebay!

Thanks again for having this place. And thanks again Tony for selling me your "baby"!

And yeah, by the way, I've already taken my "baby" out for some trials. Even though the day was "blah" and overcast. I just had to try the new (to me) camera out.

Enjoy:

I have an XSi. I just have one tip.

Learn to work the AV and focus point buttons without looking.

Hi Kevin:

I love my XSi too! One question, I see you have an Opteka Battery Grip, how to you like it? I am thinking about making that my next purchase after I get back to work. Either that or extension tubes, since they cost about the same on Amazon, I haven't decided which to get first.

Dawn,

Well, I like the grip. I have rather large hands, so the grip gives me more room to hold the camera. Makes my shooting more stable too. I've had the camera since Wednesday (about 4 days) and I've not had to charge a battery once. (I've taken about 400 or so shots and I'm using two batteries in the grip.)

I love how I can turn the camera into portrait mode and still have the shutter and controls in the right places.

So, yeah, I like it. ;-)
