Default Flickr, yes or no?

I have a Flickr Pro account for quite a while but now I am not so sure if I want to keep that. I read that it is easy for others to download images. Does a watermark help? Or what suggestions you have to protect your photos?

You can just set your preferences so that no one can download your photos.

Which is trivial to bypass, use Firefox and Ad-blocker to disable the "security" gif. Opera has a content blocker built right in. You can even use IE to "Save page as" then trawl through the directory for the image.

That's true. But anywhere you post on the web images can be stolen, not just Flickr.

Photo sharing web sites should not even have an option to stop people downloading the images, people would think twice before uploading them instead of "Oh it's ok, I have the security option turned on"

Wow, someone's grumpy.

Frankly, if you're SO inclined to steal images, then fine, but the thief should expect the full wrath of the law come down upon them if they do so.

Photo sharing sites HAVE the option to "stop" people from downloading images because it's requested BY THE USERS OF THAT SITE and they do it to curtail the most common ways of theft (right click > save as). Just doing that likely saves them a heap of trouble.

I am not a huge fan of Flickr, I heard somewhere (this is not the reason I dont have an account) that they can use any image you upload and even sell it. I used to be on deviantart but I dont like it there either. So many great photographers never get found because its become TOO popular and the mass hype has caused some people to become popular there only from kissing alot of butt.

Thats my opinion have a nice one

It provides to no value, and is even detrimental to the quality of information here, to post a statement like the one above. If you think this is the case please provide a link to the site that demonstrates this. Thanks.
