Question about moderators and posting times

Hi all. I am only posting here because I can't seem to get any response anywhere else on the site. I am having issues posting. I always get the message saying that my reply has been posted and that it will be viewable once a moderator "approves." I have been trying numerous times to get a photo of mine posted into the latest weekly assignment forum, "Water in Motion." Each time I get the canned response that it has been submitted and will be viewable once a moderator approves the post. However, it's been about 20 hours that I've been trying to post, and I still don't see my photo showing up there. I believe I am following all guidelines and directions for that particular forum. What strikes me odd, is that I then decided to post the same photo into the "Critique" forum, and it was viewable within about 10 minutes of posting it. I really am not sure what is going on. Do moderators just take a long time to "approve" postings? What is the average approval time? Should I try posting a 5th time into the latest weekly assignment? The other thing that is happening is that I cannot see my own responses to people that have given me feedback on my photo in the "Critique" forum. Again, the submissions appear successful and that a moderator needs to approve before I can see them. It just seems overall that a lot of people are posting and getting things on here a lot faster than I seem to be able to.

Well, first things first, don't forget that posts in the single assignment thread often move a lot faster than the critique area, and it's much easier to see if a thread needs to be approved in the critique area rather than a single post in the assignment thread.

Generally, we approve things as we see them. As a new poster, your posts are more likely to get moderated because of the forum's anti-spam feature. So, if you notice that a post of yours hasn't been approved for a long time, I recommend sending a PM to a mod and asking about it. It may just be that it's been missed in the hundreds of new posts that come up every day. After all, we're only human
