Newbie with a New DSLR- Where to start?

Hi All! Long time lurker, first time poster here!

I have just bought myself a shiny new dslr- a panasonic lumix g2 in fact!

Im just wondering if there are any tutorials or 'lists' of things to photograph to get me used to using the camera, where everything is and such?

I know the basics of photography, and have been using a panasonic point and shoot for years, that has quite a lot of control- but i needed a little more so I traded up!

So basically I'm looking for either a tutorial or a list of different types of photographs to take, or maybe a little run through of the first pics to take on a new camera?

Sorry if this is a long shot! Any help/ideas much appreciated!

I am new too! What I did was
A. Read everything on this board and subscribe to all the threads that I felt were particularly useful
B. Went to the bookstore (my local Borders) and bought a couple of books. I was surprised that there were several written specifically for my camera model. I am sure there are books out there for every camera model. I also bought the book Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson.
With all of these things combined, I have learned more in the last few weeks than I thought possible.
