I had a drive/media server fail (fortunately I had backups). But, it's time to rethink my backup plan. I'd appreciate any insight from other users. I have about 70 GB representing 15,000 photos and videos.
Current: laptop PC with all the photos, external hard disk with all of the photos. Nothing consistently stored off site. Interim Plan: as above, plus upload all of the files to my existing Flickr Pro account. Ideal: repair media server for a total of two drives on site, one off site drive (optionally plus the Flickr Pro account) The ideal is more costly, so I was wondering if Flickr Pro would make a reasonable interim plan. As I already have the account, I would not have to spend any money in the short run. It's a bit of a beast to get gigs of data through the Flickr desktop uploader, but it is going. I've tried burning to DVD, but I just don't keep up with it.
