Default CS5 student and teacher edition

I was looking at photoshop CS5 today (just dreaming, I could never afford that!), and I noticed that there was a "student and teacher edition" for waaaaay less (USD $199).

My question is; Is it the same thing with a different price tag? Or is it a more basic version?
I just want to be sure it's the same thing, before I buy it.

Thanks for helping me figure this out!

hehe, I think I just found the answer What’s the Difference on Adobe CS5 Student Editions vs. Regular? | ProDesignTools
Looks like a great deal for all us students and teachers!

It is a great deal for students and teachers and also parents of said students. I purchased my CS4 from academicsuperstore.com with the verification of my son in high school.

Yeah, I think the only limits are that you can only use it on your private computer, you can't sell or give it away and you can only use it on two different computers. Not too bad!

That isn't bad at all, it also can't be upgraded. A new copy would need to be purchased. I haven't gotten CS5 yet, but it's on my list.

Actually, it can be. But you have to upgrade it as a "commercial" edition. Says Adobe...
Lemme find the link....

I graduated in May 2010 but my student ID is still valid. Does anyone know what kind of verification they do? I would love to save myself $450.

As I understand, you get the download (or box) which will expire in 30 (60?) days if you don't give them proof that you are a student. If you can prove that you are a student, you pay $199 for an activation code.... I think that's how it works..... could be wrong, though.

I noticed you are from La Crosse. I live in Viroqua!

I wonder if this offer is valid for homeschooling parents? I would think so.
