Default Best Photo Magazine

I realize this is subjective, and I have no idea if this is the right forum for this question or not.

But I am a hobbyist/amauter photographer and I feel like a useful next step for me would be subscribing to a monthly photography magazine (I already get National Geographic for inspiration, as well as being an awesome magazine).

I'm not really looking for lots of camera reviews, I have a long enough wish list as is, don't need to be adding the latest and greatest cameras to it.

But if anyone knows of a monthly mag with lots of tips and tricks on shooting, composition, post-production, making money.... basically a DPS in print.

Or should I just stick with DPS and buy a few books?

(Don't ask me why I think this will help my photography improve, I just have a hunch/feeling that it will)

I get Rangefinder every month, and it's free. It's not really a straightforward this-is-how-you-shoot-this-kind-of-shot type deal, but there's all kind of inspirations in there.
Here's their website:

As this isn't an actual tutorial, I've moved this thread for you.

I personally like Popular Photography. No, I don't subscribe. But I'm on page 38 of this month's (August 2010) issue

I heartily recommend Lenswork

LensWork Home Page

It's a magazine that is basically, interviews with some photographers and comments about their work - and then a "gallery exhibit" displayed in a book. The print quality is excellent - they use high quality paper, so that they really are "prints" as opposed to just a page of a magazine, and the images are black and white. The subject matter varies - and it's really just about images and photography. A great way to get inspired - and to really see some excellent contemporary work. It's not about gear - it's not about technology - it's about images.

No - I don't work for them. They were first recommended to me by a photography teacher I spoke with a long time ago, I recently rediscovered the magazine and realized that it was just what I needed - no more gear lust - just - beautiful images and inspiration. Unfortunately it's a little expensive for 6 magazines a year - but I find the cost well worth it.
