Well here I am day 3 at my new job running the newspaper. I had to laugh on Monday as corporate asked me to come in at 8:30 and they would "train" me. Cool, as I haven't worked on a Mac in a long time and am also not familiar with their programs, procedures and what not.
so my training consisted of "Here's your desk" and then twenty minutes later walking folks to me and saying this is Michelle she will help you. that was it. Good lord. Good thing I am really good at improvising

And good that you know what you are doing.
So have you had the chance to run in and say hold the press, hold the press. Or is that just in old movies. LOL.

Good luck in your new job. I remember starting my job. I hadn't been in paid work for around 10 years because of raising a family so my first day was a Friday and I was shown what to do and on the Monday I was told "right your doing it on your own from now on"
I was "hang on a sec what do you mean EEK" Then it was a case of "Rach, you'll handle it" but you know what sometimes it helps to be thown right in the deep end.The job wasn't as high powered as running a newspaper though. How exciting for you!

lol, day 4 and still no email and very limited access to programs. No business cards, no media kits but I'll be dammed if I'll give up.
Like I told them when they asked me to take the job, "well hell, I'm always up for a good challenge"
