Default Chitzen Itza Mexico

Hii,
I'm just wondering if anyone had gone to Chitzen Itza Mex. Pyramid?
We are planning to go there next month and preparingwhat to expect.
Also, maybe some suggestions on taking pics, other places to see.
Thank you. I appreciate it.

My wife and I went there on our honeymoon and it was fantastic. There are tons of possible photo opportunities, and interesting captures. When we went I only had an Olympus film point & shoot with us I really wish I'd had my D-SLR back then, maybe next time.

Not sure where you're coming from, but if it's Cancun, it's at least 1.5 hours away, so be prepared for that.

Not a lot of cover, so if it's hot (it will be), bring sunscreen/hat/etc.

Expect most of your photo ops to have tons of tourists in it unless you're first in or last out.

Yes, bring enough water (bottled as mentioned).

Otherwise, hope for nice weather..

If you're in the cancun area, go to a Cenote (underwater caves, often with water you can swim in) and Tulum.

If you're talking about the one in Cancun, all the above is correct.

I was there over winter( in Chicago, at least), and it's awesome. Bring a hat, as it's hot and there's scarce cover. Lots of wildlife in the area. I saw quite a few iguanas/ lizards. There's also a sinkhole in the area, which is awesome. There ARE lots of tourists though, so those may interfere with photo ops.

Erik,
Don't worry. Have a second honeymoon. It's nice to visit a place that is meaningful to you and your wife and this time bring your D-slr. Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.

BigFuzzy, yes, we are coming frm Cancun. Thanks for the headsup og 1.5 hours. Is there anice scenery in that travel time? Good suggestions. Cenote and Tulum. I'll try to include it in our schedule. Can you suggest any lens you think is good to bring? Did you have any fog problem on the travel? Thank you very much. JoeD
