How to Promote Your Photography

I'm sure everyone gets asked this every now and then. I been doing photography for a while now and I have notice that I have got better at this skill, but I think it's time to take it to the next step as in promoting it more, getting it out there more. I had a Flickr pro account for a while and I share the links on Twitter and Facebook, I even upload them to my Facebook account too.

Thats really all I do, sometimes if it's a photo that got kind of popular i'll post it on my blog, but not often this happens.

Should I create some sort of fan page on Facebook? Maybe should I create a website dedicated to my photography? I actually had a website dedicated to my photography but it wasn't working so well, but I been thinking to create one again and be more active about it, but I know i'm just rambling on.

I just wanted to ask, what did you guys and gals do to promote your photography, not for professional reasons, as in getting it out there becoming popular, is it even worth getting recognized for your photography? or is it?

Just what would be the next step to take your photography further?

I`m not a professional...yet. But when I browse for inspiration I look on the facebook pages and then browse the web for photographers that post snippets of their sessions on a blog. Hope that helps.
