Default question on lense

OK guys heres a question for someone more experienced than i am.

I was told for shooting one pic right after another with very little or no delay its not really the camer abut more about the Lens??

Is this true??

I ahve a canonpowershot s3 is and with the flash off it will shoot pics like crazy one right after the other with no delay its awesome and i love it but they come out blurry i might get one good pic out of 20

now witht eh flash on it will shoot but there is a delay in between that is longer than i want it to be so someone said i just need a fixed focal length lense that i shouldnt be shooting indoors with the flash on anyway.

Is this correct What is a good recommendation for a new camera to upgrade to that will shoot the pics one right after the other with VERY little or No dealy in between i want it to snap one right after the other.

Thanks for any help you can offer!!!!

Is your flash a speedlight? If so, the delay is the flash charging back up...

If you're moving the camera whilst pressing the shutter, you're going to get blur. You could mount it on a tripod...

hmmm... speaking of your first line regarding how the flash and the lens affects the next frame...
in a twisted sort of way it can be connected.

if you shoot at f/1.8 you will let in shirtloads of light.. so the flash wont fire as hard/long.. therefore you have more juice in the flash's capacitor for the next shot.

at f/4 or f/8 it will take more power from the flash to achieve the same exposure.

If you want to shoot in available light and rapidly the use your Nikon D5000 - You may need to use lens with a maximum aperture of around F2 and possibly high ISO..
If you want to use a flash and reduce the recycle time the bump up your ISO and as candleman .says use a wide aperture.

You may find an external flash, with an optional battery pack will allow you to shoot at a faster rate.

Did you try any of the suggestions on your previous post re this subject?

Im not proud of how many times it took me to read this before I realized you were cursing.

Frankly, while i can understand the OP, I'd be in a much more helping mood if it were written intelligently.
