Used to use a Pentax film slr, briefly tried a digital point and shoot but couldn't get used to it. With my Canon XTi dslr I feel like I'm home again.

See, I wish I could do that. I've been kind of thinking that my Olympus SP has the negs of both dSLR and P&S because it doesn't have the same quality of a dSLR but I don't get the compact nature of the P&S so I can't carry it anywhere.

I think I picked it because it looks really flashy, lol, but it is a pretty good camera and I don't have to buy lenses. This is provided I'm taking it with me with the sole purpose of taking photos and not some social situation where is annoys me to carry it around.

Default RubberBand Man

I'm trying to breakout of the usual point and shoot mode that I've been stuck in with the Fujifilm MX-1200(newly retired). The Panasonic Lumix, DMC-LZ4, I have now is a good user friendly point and shoot for beginners with lots of pre-arranged photo setups. But for a beginner like me it doesn't offer enough manual freedom to advance as broadly as I imagine I could. Baby steps..... for now.

Fujifilm MX-1200 (Rest in Peace, decided the rubber bands holding it together were tacky).

I use my Nikon D40 DSLR. It's awesome. I sold my Sony Cybershot to pay for it, so it's all I have!

Default My Camera(s)

Right now I'm using a Canon EOS 40D that I got last nov. and I love it. I'm still trying to figure out a lot the details but frankly that's the fun part. I got my first digital about 18 mo. ago ( a samsung point and shoot) to take pictures of my grandchildren and when I discovered what I could do with it my old AE1 was doomed.

My primary camera is Percy, a Canon Rebel XTi. I bought him this past Christmas and gave up my Olympus Stylus 800 (P&S) to my parents since our first digital (Olympus Camedia C-50) broke.

I used a Minolta G-400 for several years until I got my Canon Rebel XT. I still love the Minolta for being a quick way to catch a shot in a hurry. The Minolta is still a point 'n' shoot for me, though, because its manual settings are way too complicated to get to. Am using the Rebel almost exclusively now, trying to learn how to get it to capture what my eye sees!
