Default Pst Wanna buy a 5DMk11

Saw this in the local Gumtree (like Craigs list)

Is this a scam?
I'm afraid to ask.

Cheers,

John W

No wait, I'll ask. First in best dressed.

Doesn't look overly scammy. It's a local one so you can just meet him and look at the thing and there's an address as well. As long as he's not asking you to meet to bring cash to a deserted men's bathroom then it should be fine.

The address is Stirling Medical Centre.
Might be a doctor who gave up on photography.
Heaps of car parking spaces in front.

...let us know how you go!

email and ask. Don't send money without seeing the product first hand. Photos not good enough for me.. Posting a medical centre address is a little odd
Gumtree is well know for scams, although I have traded successfully at the same time.

Thanks Dark,

Problem is I'm in Sydney, he's in Melbourne about 880km away. Doesn't look overly scammy!!!!!! The best new price you can get here is nearly three grand. So under nine hundred is a bloody steal. Looks pretty scammy to me.

I sent him an email, so we'll see the response from that.

Mmm Doctors Surgery, thanks Raoul, maybe he has to leave the country in a hurry and needs the bread.

I've also bought from Gumtree in the past as well GT, so most are genuine.

We'll see.

Cheers,

John W

I definitely wouldn't trust any postal transaction certainly.

The address may be a bit odd but not too odd. I wouldn't put my home address on the internet so it might well be a work one. May not be a doctor, could be support staff that's a bit hard up and needs a quick sale.

But you never know. If anything I'd say it's more likely to be an 'off the back of a lorry' job rather than a scam.
