Hi,
I just returned from a two week vacation in Cancun Mexico and had numerous problems with the humidity fogging up my lens. I have a Canon EOS 50D and the lens was a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS. Any idea on how to correct this issue in the future? Thanks. |

avoid exposing the camera to that environment in a quick manner. If the camera slowly adapts to the humidity, it won't fog over. Or get yourself a weather sealed Pentax and don't worry about it.

I have never really had a problem with humidity etc but apparently you are supposed to put your camera in a ziplock bag (or sealed whatever) when moving it from either the extreme cold to warm or the opposite to let it slowly acclimatise without attracting heaps of moisture.

I keep silica gel packs in my camera bag to help with humidity when traveling.

Yeah this happens especially when coming outside from air conditioning. A little microfiber cloth gets the job done. Look for them at target or walmart. Make sure it's a soft cloth, so as not to scratch the lens - though it's pretty hard to scratch lenses these days.

Thanks for all the replies. I did take the camera from my hotel room, which was very cool outside to the beach when it fogged up. I was trying to get some nude photos of my wife as she was more than happy to model, but due to the humidity it took over an hour for the lens to unfog. I guess I just need to plan better in the future.
