World cup

Well the USA and England are through (USA by skill, England it seems by accident)

I went the Holland - Cameroon with my son (named Cameron, aged 6) last night and can tell you guys that the atmosphere was UNBELIEVABLE.

We took the train and walked the last 2.5km to the stadium on the specially created fan walk. I have never seen so many well natured people in one place. It was packed and the vibe was rocking. 95% were in Orange, but as Africans my son and I went to support Cameroon. (I have a bet on Holland winning the entire tournament)

I only took a tiny P&S as I thought FIFA would stop any decent cameras going in. When I arrived I found tons of people with 50D camera's or better.

The Dutch fans are wonderful. Great humour, massive passion and so well behaved. How is this fellow in his lion suit.



My boy going full tilt on his vuvuzela. I hate it and think it strips the emotion out of the crowd, but loads of people love them.

I have never been to a World Cup soccer game, but would love to go. It looks like the two of you had a wonderful time.

Cute kid, I just hope for your sake he doesn't blow that damn vuvuzela around your house all day.

It was the perfect father-son day. He was such a soldier, only nodded off 2km from home at midnight. I am a rugby man, but this was a top class experience
