If you don't want a big head...
When someone does work for less than the going rate, the person paying for the work will greatly encourage them even when the work barely meets standards. This keps the worker coming back and continuing to do the work for little money plus praise. Not saying this is what happened here, but imagine how effusive he'd be if you worked for free. |
