is there a difference? (appart from size )

whats your preference?

currently my D80 only takes SD, but some cameras take both SD or CF

would there be any significat advantage in switching to CF when i upgrade ?

thanks

CF cards can be much faster (more connections to shove data through).

I'm having a hard time trying to get small capacity CF cards, like only 1 or 2GB...
All they shove in front of me are the latest and greatest, it seems...
32 GB and 60 MB per sec!

CF cards are also more durable. Take a lick and keep on clicking and recording images. I've washed a few in that were in my pocket and after room drying they still work. My MK's can also take both, but why bother........when you're using 4 gig cards.

I'm using two 8 and three 4 GB cards with my 12MP bodies. Have a bunch of smaller cards too for backup.

i'm getting a D300s, and i have a habit of shooting JPEG+RAW
which i will continue to do when the new body arrives (gotta make the most of that CA reduction in JPEG !!)

Pretty sure you still get CA correction with NEFs. I've never had a problem with lateral CA on any of the current bodies.

cool, i didnt know it applies it to the NEF.. wasnt sure it was even possible.

maybe the CA correction the the NEF isnt as reduced as the jpeg outputs.

thats kindof what this statement seems to indicate to me anyway

Because the D300S also corrects for lateral chromatic aberrations when you shoot JPEGs, it may comes as a bit of a shock to then use a RAW converter that doesn't automatically apply such corrections. In general the JPEGs do a good job of making the best of the underlying RAW data, which makes them useful whether you're offering clients an early proof or using them as the end product. - DPReview link
i could be wrong in my assumption, i didnt study the entire review.
thanks though.

Not sure, but I did notice a huge difference between the D200 and D300.
