Default Manual vs Automatic focusing cameras

Hi, I'm 16 and have only limited photography knowldege. I'm currently saving up for a new camera and have a budget of around £200. I've found some decent secondhand dslrs in my price range, but i'm really confused by the differene between Muanual and automatic focusing camers. What is the difference? Which would you reccomend?
Thankyou
Corrie

I may be wrong but all DSLR's in your price range have auto focusing. Some older film SLR's are manual focus only. But back to the question one can turn off te auto focus and manually focus. Auto focus the camera turns the focus ring to get what it believes is proper focus. The area used by the camera is chosen by the user. In manual focus the user turns the focus ring manually. Also note some lenses are manual focus only.

I agree, anything that moves, use autofocus.
