So I want to start putting my photo's on a website so people can view my art but I want to know if there are any free websites I can upload my pictures to besides FaceBook and which ones are the best. But if I do have to pay for a web subscriptions which one of the paid ones would you recommend ? Thanks for any feedback

I use photobucket.com, pbase, and flickr. I do pay for the upgrade with Pbase and flickr though.

Photobucket is rubbish for hosting art photography, the images get compressed far too much. Flickr would be the better option.

A lot of people use flickr.

I use deviantart.com. It's free and they also offer a portfolio site.

I also use webs.com for my website. The free package includes a lot of memory space, but you wouldn't want to put all your pictures there. I use a combination of the two, putting my best on my actual website and saying "for more examples, go to my facebook or DA portfolio".

Never heard of deviantart but i went there and it looks like a good place to sell pictures and thanks for the good idea about webs.com......i think i might try uploading albums to flickr and see if they come out without so much compression

It is indeed a good place to sell.

Also, I haven't tried flickr, but with deviant art, if you wanted have a photography blog, it is included in your account. I know a lot of people who have a facebook, a website, a twitter, a flickr, and a wordpress. But both Facebook and Deviant art have a blog you can use, as well as status updates. So it's kinda of a one stop shop.

Good luck with your flickring!
