Default Facebook - Client wants to be Friends

I was contacted yesterday by someone who is going to be a client. I do not know her personally. She saw some pictures I took of a mutual friend's little girl that I posted on Facebook. She has now requested that I become her friend on FB. I really try to keep my personal page restricted just to personal friends. I have a fan page, which I think would be much more appropriate for her to see, rather than my personal page. Have any of you had this same issue? How did you handle it? I don't really want to ignore her request, but nor do I want her to see my personal info either.

I have clients that are "friends" on Facebook. I put them in a separate group (called "clients", lol) and restrict what they can and cannot see in my settings.

I refuse or ignore. Just because someone asks to be friends doesn't mean you have to be friends! Don't be afraid to say "No".

If it is your personal page, keep it personal. Simple.
Kindly redirect her to your fan page.

I don't have a fan page, so I can't comment. But...Generally my personal page is for people I really know, or grew up with. There are a few exceptions though, as I have added some people from here, and one or two other places, but I feel e-close enough to them to do that.

You should have 3 accounts set up for facebook. A personal real account, a work account for client/business friends and a fan page.

Not necessary - you can just change your settings for clients so they don't see everything on your personal page.

It's enough work to keep up two pages (personal and fan page) - keeping three up would be a pain in the butt IMHO. But that's just me.

If you have a fan page or group page, have them join that: the only clients i have on FB are the ones I've worked with often enough to actually consider a friend. And who've seen me drunk.

Some people will feel snubbed if you don't give them access to everything. That's just my experience, much easier not having to customize settings on a micro level. I just do it at the macro level.

How do they know they don't have access to everything? I've never had a complaint.
