Default Hello :}

Hey guys!

I go by a bunch of different names but you can call me Kris and i'm 15. (16 in a few days)

I'm an aspiring photographer and i'm getting my first decent camera in a couple days for my birthday. (And I seriously cant wait) Its a Olympus Evolt E520. :] I'm also really trying to figure out the whole F-stop and aperture thing. :[ maybe its because i dont have my camera in my hands to try to learn it but i dont understand it when i read it. haha

This is my deviantArt in case you want to see my older photography I took with my crappy Nikon... love4Havok's Gallery I'll be uploading new stuff soon. :}

Anywho, other then photography I write and play a lot of Xbox, I'm Obsessed with anything having to do with Horror, hanging out with my sister//Best friend, and I love to read about religion. I also have a love for Phantom of the opera and rock//metal//punk music.

Well, I suck at these. lol I hope to make friends and learn some things on here.

-Kristal

gratz on the new camera! You can figure out manual, if you put the camera on manual ALL THE TIME and force yourself to figure it out. Best way IMHO!

Happy Birthday!

Reading your camera manual is a very good thing, but one other book that I would highly suggest you picking up is Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure, as he does an excellent job explaining the basics of photography (aperture, shutter speed, composition, etc.).

Once you get your new camera and start using it, it wouldn't surprise me if you start obsessing trying to figure out ways to get more money for gear. Hey, I'm just warning you...
