Default Sports Correspondent for a local newspaper

So, I received an e-mail from the editor at my local newspaper. She asked me if I would be interested in being a sports correspondent. She added that I wrote really well. With it being wedding season and all, I don't know if I could balance sports, weddings, school, and extra creative portraiture.

What do I do? What all do sports correspondents do?

I wish I could offer some meaningful advice.

But, I just wanted to say that you've got to be doing good work to get an unsolicited e-mail like this one. Props to you!

OK, I'm jealous .
For me it would be sports every time but that's because I just love to be at sporing events of any kind (not that at any time in the forseeable future or beyond am I likely to ever get the choice).
I obviously can't offer you any wisdom from experience but I guess at the end of the day if it is your main source of income then you will have to balance what you'd like to do with what you can afford to do.
Congrats on the offer, I hope it works out for you.
