Default Photowalk Memories

Well, finally home and settled back after our trip to Starved Rock State Park and our 2nd annual spring photowalk. Phew! What a trip.
We started out Sat. morning with everybody gathering in the parking lot around 8-9 in the morning. We ended up with 10 (11?) members. Myself, Cloverlane, Murtasma, BryanC, Andy301 & Chuck, Abarickman, Ferdie and a couple of his friends. (I'm terrible with names) So with map in hand, we headed off down the trails. We made the first loop, then back to the Lodge at about 1:00 for lunch (Thanks again Jon). After lunch, we trekked back out to see the waterfalls. The problem getting good shots at the base of a waterfall, is getting to the base of the waterfall. Really, getting to the base isn't that bad, its getting back to the top of the cliff to get to the next one.
It was a whole lot of hiking, but I had a blast! We laughed and joked all the way thru it. I'll be ready for the next one.

If anyone has never done a photowalk, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Mark

P.S. Missed you Hayward, hope everything is okay.

Although I had to cut my day in half due to another commitment, I had a full day of fun with the group...a great bunch of guys. Thanks to Mark for the "credentials" that you made for everyone...makes for a nice keepsake of the day. I'm looking forward to seeing more images of the day from everyone and I'll be sharing more of mine when I get the time to process them. And as Mark mentioned, if you haven't been on a photo walk and have the opportunity...join in. I'm already looking forward to another one...

My ankles are still really sore but I think that's more from holding the accelerator down for 5 1/2 hours (wish I had cruise control in my car). Are you thinking of making some holographic badges for next year?

Next time if we decide to go out to another park like this I'm going to be bringing some boots just in-case the ground is muddy like it was when we went. I wish we visited that last waterfall first I bet there would have been a LOT fewer people. If I wasn't so worn out I probably would have stayed at that last falls e longer so I could grab enough frames at differnet locations to remove people from the falls. I also totally forgot to shoot a video of the falls but I got some video of the other two falls. I'll have to post those up when I have some time for everyone to see.
