Just read this news article.
Photographer faces jail over nude cemetery shots - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) Beats me why you need to desecrate other peoples private special places. I know I would be funinmg if some clown photographer and a couple of floozies draped themselves over my late parents or sons memorial. Cheers, John W

Hate to play devil's advocate here, buuuut...
How do you know it's just "some photographer" and "a couple of floozies"? For all we know they had permission from the families and the church. Unlikely, but not impossible. I think your characterisation, though, is a bit on the harsh side.

Isn't that more to do with their Yakuza associations though?

Goth ladies naked on and around tombstones is quite a classic erotic concept really. Sex and Death etc.... does actually make for some very striking and provocative images.
A bit of creative Googling (with the filter off )shows that what this guy did has been done loads of times before already. Like RL says, I think he just did it in the wrong country. As for the original question of 'Why would you do it?' ......... Well, naked Goth Chicks.

Yes you're right Os,
He is a very talented photographer and the ladies are certainly beautiful. BUT, I'm a firm believer in time, place and occasion. Is it OK to drape nude, although very attractive ladies on our Cenotaph for the sake of art, for example. Burial grounds and memorial gardens are sacred places and I categorise this type of photography in the same vein as graffiti, vandalising toombstones and urinating on some ones grave. All totally not acceptable even in the name of ART. I'm not religious, in fact ambivalent to religion, but I have a strong sense of right and wrong and I hope, sound morals. This does not fit into my moral cose. Wow am I on a high horse> Cheers, John W

I did a shoot in a cemetery last August in Cincinnati. The place is like a park. People have their weddings there....I even had my senior pictures took there.
The cemetery actually encourages people to use it for photography reasons, but don't allow any nudes. So you have to use photoshop. http://digital-photography-school.co...-rae-lynn.html |
