Default Photo Blog

I'm interesting in starting my own photo blog so my friends who do not have facebook or other networking sites that require a membership to view photos will be able to see what I've done without having to send a million emails that take forever to load on both ends. I was wondering if there is one site that is better than another or if any old blog site will do the trick. Also, any advice as far as a photo blog goes would be a HUGE help and greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jo

P.S. - How on earth do I change that little picture up there by my name. I have something I'd like to use but I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to change it.

Go to user cp, click edit avatar.

If you want to blog you can just use something live livejournal or blogger.com.

You may also want to look at using something like deviantART or Flickr as well as/instead of (see the links in my signature for examples or those sites).

Flickr seems quite popular, although I despise yahoo now that microsoft is doing everything in its power to ruin it. Is deviantART a similar site?

dA has less emphasis on being a photo hosting site/art community and more of an art community/networking site. It has stuff like blogs and stuff you can put on and polls and what not. Have a look around it and see.

I personally only really use flickr as a hosting site so I can put my photos on here.

I have a blog which uses a Word Press template and then is hosted by my husband on his server.

You can have use a template and have it hosted by Word Press for free, they have a number of templates available and it they are easy to set up and run

If you'd like to take a look at my blog you can find it at Photography by Sharon Curran

I've used wordpress since january this year, it's a lot more user friendly than blogger/blogspot and has some great looking themes. Overall it feels a lot more polished than other free blog providers.
