Default Did anyone watch House last night (5DII Discussion)?

I was wondering what, for those who saw it, thought of the video quality of the season Finale of House last night. For those who do not know, it was filmed exclusively with the 5D Mark II.

There were lots of scenes in low light (in a collapsed building) that were pretty amazing. Had I not known, I wouldnt have been able to tell that it was shot with a prosumer camera. I watched it in high def on a 46" Samsung 1080P LCD TV at 720p (it may have been 1080i- I am not sure) and it looked just about perfect.

I am certainly no expert on the video side so I was curious what those who have more experience than I do thought.

It was very cool to see a whole tv show shot with a (H)dSLR - I didn't get to watch the episode, but had read a lot about it and watched a couple of behind the scenes videos that are about...

That sounds very interesting! Should air here in about a month, at which time I'll probably have forgotten, but that's still pretty neat.

No! The TV and photography worlds cannot collide, next thing you know we'll have HDR combining with 3D-HDTV and entire nations' heads will explode at once!

Haha...there was actually a thread on another site yesterday that had a photoshop mockup Canon 3D with a add on second lens for 3-D video/images.

A whole movie in HDR might give a interesting cinematic effect!

Watching it now (Thanks, PVR!). Looks great, especially in the low-light. Almost more dynamic, like there's more contrast.

I've never watched House, but now I have to look for this episode. I know they've used the 7D and 5dmkil to shoot the title sequence of SNL, but I hadn't heard of an entire TV episode.

Me too. That's amazing. But I wonder if they did a lot of PP? I'm sure you've heard what TV producers can be like.
